Have you ever wished that you had a device to wind your watch up for you? I don’t mean the old fashioned type of watch that you wind manually but the ones that wind automatically with movement. You may have never thought about it before, but I bet you find it be annoying when you do not wear the watch for a while and it winds down. I have recently seen some discount wheelchairs and discount lift chairs in a mobility shop and I am very tempted to buy them. It is a shame that the reason these items are discounted is because the shop in my high street is closing down due to the poor economic situation. They have found that people are making do at the moment and not buying very much. Older people, who tend to be their main market, are really suffering with the lowering of interest rates meaning that any savings they have are not earning them very much interest. The very cold weather tends to be worrying for them as well as their fuel bills go up too. I went in to the shop and the manager said that they normally do pretty well around Christmas with children buying their ageing parents replacement items but this year they did not see their normal increase in business and so that was the last straw and they were forced to sell up and close down as quickly as possible. My parents are getting on a bit and I am sure they will need mobility aids in the near future and I doubt I will be able to get something as cheap from anywhere else if I wait until they need it. I also feel that I will be doing this poor guy a favour if at least he can shift some stock, even if it is at a discount price. At least his loss will not be quite so big. I think I will have a chat with my parents on the phone tonight and find out whether they are happy for me to go ahead and make some purchases. They love a bargain so I expect they will be keen on the idea!

Do you find food fads as annoying as I do? I tend to find that I hear about a particular product which is supposed to help me slim, reduce fat or have great nutritional properties and everyone is suddenly talking about it. People spend a lot of money buying it or a supplement of it and you hear all these tales of how good it is. I tend not to get on trend for a long time and so I do not try it and then eventually feel that I want to find out what everyone is talking about and see whether the products cracks up to be as good as it claims. Normally I am disappointed and vow that I will not do it again. However, recently a member of my family has had a heart scare and as a result I tend to be switched on to any information with regards to hearts and helping them be healthy. I was so sick of not knowing who to believe that I did a nutrition course so that I could find out the facts for myself. It was fantastic and I have changed the way my family eat as a result. We now have no ready meals or take outs and rarely eat out. We have started making sure that we have a big variety of vegetables and making sure that we have a good balance of proteins and carbohydrates. One thing that I have been looking into as well is flax seed recipes. I want the family to have enough omega 3 in their diet but they do not like oily fish or munching on seeds. I therefore try to hide seeds in other foods or use them to enhance recipes. I find that the family enjoy them this way and they even actively encourage me to buy flax seed when we are out shopping which is fantastic.

I used to think that playing on line games was just for children. I remember playing computer games as a child and I would not want to play that type of game now. If they can help out by paying me some rent then I will be able to easily afford the mortgage payments and hopefully the bank will be happy to lend me the money. I do so hope that my plan will work as I have been looking for Real estate in Asheville for such a long time that I really hope that my plan will work. I am worried that if I miss this opportunity that there will nothing else suitable coming on the market for a very long time or the bank will decide not to lend me the money after all. With the way the economy is we cannot be certain of anything these days at all.

Have you tried out any of the North Carolina golf courses out lately? I do not know what it is but the ones that I have been trying just seem to be really good. My score is improving and I can only think that it is to do with the course as I have been doing no extra practise, reading about technique or anything. It is fantastic that my game is improving and I am doing nothing extra! Just think if I really did apply myself and try to improve my technique, get fitter or get some lessons. I could start improving even more quickly and maybe even start to beat the guys that I play with. I do not take the game that seriously though. It is fun and I do like it when I am improving but I do not work hard to get there. I do not really have the time to do golf strengthening exercises or read lots of books on the subject, I just get out on the course with my buddies and hope that I can play well that day. I have seen some really serious players in the past who have every video and DVD they can about golf, read lots of books, subscribe to all the magazines and take golf vacations every year to improve their game. I have even seen some NC Golf homesites for sale where these true fanatics can live. I think that this is okay if you are retired and have nothing else to do, but I am busy with work and my family and so just play for a fun hobby and to keep myself a bit fit. Maybe when I retire you never know, I may turn into one of these enthusiasts but until then I will just keep to my fortnightly game.

hAt the moment when the economy is not so good I have been searching around for bargains. I am lucky enough to be earning well at the moment and so have decided to take advantage of the lowering prices and stock up on things that I need for the future. I have bought quite a few outfits for work and some presents for people whose birthdays are at the beginning of the year. I have even snapped up some discount costumes as I know that they are something that we will use and always buy new at Halloween, so while I saw them cheap I thought that I woudl get them and put them away for next year. I find it hard to find womens costumes and tend to get them whenever I see them and because they were cheap I thought I would get them now. I know that most people are probably holding onto their money, but lets face it, if we all do that then the recession will just go on for much longer. Until we start spending money, the shops will not recover and there will just be less money in circulation. I am certainly not encouraging spending for the sake of it and if you are in debt then you should be using your money to pay that off but if you do have a bit extra, why not treat yourself or buy things that will be useful in the future. While things are cheap it is definitely worth looking around. Do not buy too many things that you do not need but if you see useful things that are discounted then it is a good idea to get them now before they sell out, go back up in price or the shop goes out of business. Take advantage and have fun.
