I am really surprised that my company has bought some new HR software at the moment. In these uncertain times, I would not thought that my company would be investing money in this sort of thing. With what is happening to many businesses at the moment, such as lowered profits, staff being laid off and even companies going out of business altogether, I would have thought my company would be being more cautious and that payroll software would be the last thing that they would be spending their money on. We already have some software you see and although, admittedly, it is not as good as the new software they have bought, I would have thought they would have made us make do for a while, or at least until the economy started to recover. I guess they have budgets to spend on such things and we were the lucky ones. It is good fun having a new software package to play with and I am responsible for learning all about what it does so that I can train the rest of the team. That is again, pretty inefficient of the company as my time could probably be used better elsewhere. It is good though, seeing where we can improve our current systems by using this new product and it should make us much more efficient once we are all using it, we have moved everything over to it and we are all confident iwth using it. I have been finding it to be really easy to use and so I don’t think it will take very long at all for the rest of the team to be familiar enough with it to start using it too. I think we will all be having fun and working more quickly in no time.
